Space Museum

This is collaborative effort between the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the B M Birla Science Centre. The B M Birla Science Centre is giving some 9000 square feet of prime space in the Science Museum building. ISRO is giving some 65 models of various spacecrafts, satellites and rockets right up to Mangalyaan. These are of rather large size.

The biggest is the giant GSLV Rocket which would be approximately 60 feet tall. Then there will be models of other rockets like the PSLV. There would be a Section on the Remote Sensing images sent back. One of the most exciting features would be a special enclosure in which visitors can directly get in touch with India’s Antarctic Space Station (Dakshin Gangotri) in real time.

The Space Museum was inaugurated by Shri E.S.L. Narasimhan, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana on July 26, 2019 as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of our Trust, the Birla Archaeological and Cultural Research Institute.
